Last week, CNSide Diagnostics Medical Director Jonathan Stein, PhD, HCLD(ABB) presented at BioHouston’s October Life Science event — joining an incredible community of innovators, entrepreneurs, and researchers driving the future of biotechnology and diagnostics across the region.
The event fostered engaging discussion around emerging technologies, translational research, and cross-sector collaboration, all aimed at advancing healthcare innovation in Houston and beyond.
Bringing Precision to Neuro-Oncology
During his presentation, Dr. Stein highlighted CNSide’s pioneering work in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) diagnostics — specifically the CNSide® CSF Assay Platform, which enables clinicians to detect and quantify tumor cells in the CSF of patients with central nervous system (CNS) cancers, including leptomeningeal metastases (LM).
This liquid biopsy approach provides physicians with real-time insights into disease activity, helping to improve clinical decisions and patient monitoring in some of the most challenging cancer cases.

Shaping the Future of Biotech
Events like BioHouston’s monthly life science forums underscore how the Houston area continues to grow as a national hub for innovation — powered by institutions such as the Texas Medical Center, BioHouston, and organizations supported by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT).
By connecting companies like CNSide with researchers, clinicians, and biotech entrepreneurs, these events accelerate collaboration that translates scientific discovery into tangible patient impact.
CNSide is proud to be part of this dynamic ecosystem — working at the intersection of diagnostics, neuro-oncology, and precision medicine to improve outcomes for patients facing complex CNS cancers.
