Dr. Jonathan Stein, MS, Ph.D., HCLD(ABB), is a leader in clinical laboratory science, research, and executive management. He currently serves as the Laboratory Director at CNSide Diagnostics in Houston, Texas. His career spans over two decades across scientific leadership and executive roles. He has held positions including Chief Science Officer, Research Investigator, and Medical Director at several organizations including Alliance Diagnostics, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Gene By Gene. At CNSide Diagnostics, Dr. Stein provides clinical and scientific leadership for an advanced molecular pathology laboratory, which specializes in a novel liquid biopsy test detecting metastatic cancer cells in cerebrospinal fluid. His expertise includes laboratory accreditation, assay development, and next-generation sequencing. Dr. Stein also specializes in high-throughput optimization and advanced molecular diagnostics. Previously, Dr. Stein led clinical oversight and scientific innovation across a network of laboratories. His background includes molecular biology, genetics, and biostatistics.
Dr. Stein earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and he completed postdoctoral research at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
He holds board certification from the American Association of Bioanalysis. Dr. Stein is a prolific author and frequent scientific presenter. He has published widely on pharmacogenomics and advanced cancer diagnostics, and these contributions reinforce his reputation as a respected biomedical thought leader.
