How CNSide Supports You Through the Insurance Process
Support from the Start
Upon receipt of a CNSide CSF TCE order, our billing support team conducts a benefits investigation when possible to help identify insurance coverage, authorization requirements, and potential patient responsibility.
With You Every Step of the Way
If coverage is denied, CNSide may provide appeals support and work with patients and healthcare providers to pursue reconsideration or appeal opportunities when appropriate and authorized by the patient
Here When You Need Us
Our Patient Financial Services team is available to answer questions regarding billing, insurance coverage, payment options, and financial assistance programs.
The CNSide Financial Assistance Program is designed to help eligible patients access testing regardless of financial circumstances.
Patients may qualify for reduced out-of-pocket costs based on household income, financial need, and other qualifying circumstances. Eligibility is determined using established program guidelines and may include consideration of:
• Household income
• Uninsured or underinsured status
• Significant unpaid medical expenses
• Recent job loss or financial hardship
• Natural disaster-related financial impact
• Substantial travel or lodging expenses associated with medical care
Patients who do not meet standard income-based criteria may still be considered for assistance on a case-by-case basis.

Patient Billing FAQs
Is CNSide covered by commercial insurance?
CNSide currently has established coverage agreements with several major commercial health plans, including UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Highmark, and Blue Shield of California. Coverage may vary based on a patient’s health plan, benefit design, and clinical circumstances.
What am I responsible for paying?
Any patient responsibility is determined by the individual’s insurance plan and may include deductibles, co-payments, or co-insurance. CNSide offers payment options and financial assistance programs for eligible patients.
Is prior authorization required and what happens if coverage is denied?
Coverage requirements vary by health plan. When possible, CNSide performs a benefits investigation to identify authorization requirements and coverage considerations. If coverage is denied, CNSide may provide appeals support and work with patients and providers to pursue available appeal options.
Who can I contact if I have additional billing questions?
Patient Billing specialists are available to answer any questions you might have, at 877-288-4174 or Billing@CNSide-Dx.com. Please have your account number (found on your bill) and insurance policy number (located on your insurance card) available for all billing inquiries.
Is this test covered by Medicare/Medicaid?
CNSide is enrolled as a Medicare provider and can bill Traditional Medicare for eligible testing services. Medicaid coverage varies by state, and CNSide is actively pursuing participation with state Medicaid programs.
Are payment plans available?
Flexible payment options may be available for patients with out-of-pocket financial responsibility. Please contact Patient Financial Services to discuss available payment arrangements.
Is financial assistance available?
Yes. CNSide offers a Financial Assistance Program for eligible patients who may have difficulty paying for testing. Assistance eligibility is based on financial need and other qualifying circumstances.
How can I estimate my out-of-pocket cost?
When possible, CNSide uses insurance eligibility and benefits information to estimate potential patient financial responsibility before testing. If a significant (>$500) out-of-pocket cost is anticipated, our team may contact the patient to discuss available payment options and financial assistance programs.
Will I receive a bill from CNSide?
Patients may receive a bill if their health plan determines that a deductible, co-insurance, co-payment, or non-covered amount applies. CNSide will work with patients to explain any financial responsibility and discuss available payment options.
Does CNSide offer support if I am uninsured?
Yes. Patients without insurance coverage may qualify for self-pay discounts, payment arrangements, or financial assistance programs depending on individual circumstances.
How long does insurance verification take?
Insurance verification timelines vary by payer and the information available at the time of testing. Our team works to complete benefits investigations as quickly as possible and communicate important coverage information when available.
